How Google’s new Pixel 11 phones compare to last year’s models

Google recently expanded its smartphone lineup with the introduction of the Pixel 11 family, which includes the standard Pixel 11, the Pixel 11 Pro, the Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

Although these newly launched devices carry a higher starting price than last year's iterations, they feature several substantial enhancements. Most notably, they are powered by the custom Tensor G6 processor, which reportedly boosts processing speeds by roughly one-quarter. Additionally, the base models now come with double the storage capacity, starting at 256 gigabytes. The upgraded processor also facilitates advanced artificial intelligence capabilities, such as more contextual recommendations from the Gemini assistant, automated cleanup of voice transcriptions, real-time audio translation, and the ability to initiate visual searches directly through the active camera feed without having to snap a picture.

The hardware and software camera packages have also received significant upgrades. The entry-level model offers improved zoom capabilities, while the Pro variants sport a redesigned telephoto sensor that captures more light, alongside a higher-resolution front-facing camera and faster low-light image processing. On the software side, Google introduced a feature that automatically prepares photos for easy sharing, custom aesthetic styles, and video editing tools designed for creators. Other hardware refinements include a fast-charging configuration that redirects power to accelerate recharge times, as well as a physical notification system utilizing colored light-emitting diodes around the camera flash on the premium models.
