Dell’s newest laptop sounds a lot like a MacBook Neo

During the IFA 2026 trade show, Dell introduced its latest laptop, the Dell 14S, which targets student consumers looking for a budget-friendly alternative to the company's premium XPS series.

Featuring an all-aluminum body, the laptop will be available in several distinct colors, such as blue, pink, beige, and green. This model is powered by Intel's Wildcat Lake processors, specifically offering choices between the Core 5 320 and Core 7 350 chips, which positions it just below high-end configurations. Though it lacks the ultra-slim profile of the premium XPS 13, the new laptop includes highly practical physical features, notably restoring a standard headphone jack and an HDMI port, alongside two modern USB-C connections.\n\nScreen choices for the computer are more modest, featuring standard non-touch LCD panels with resolutions ranging up to 2880 x 1800 at a high refresh rate. Additional user-friendly attributes designed for academic life include a high-definition webcam compatible with facial recognition login and an optimized battery system that Dell estimates can support nearly a day of video streaming.
