Acer’s new MacBook Air rival is nearly a pound lighter than Apple’s laptop

Acer has officially introduced two new highly portable computers designed to prioritize slim builds and exceptionally low weights.

The standout model, the Swift Blade 14, is engineered to be exceptionally easy to carry, weighing just over one and three-quarter pounds. This ultra-lightweight design is achieved through the integration of carbon fiber materials in both the upper lid and the bottom chassis. Internally, the computer is powered by Intel's Wildcat Lake processing units and comes equipped with twelve gigabytes of system memory. Although its hardware specifications suggest it might not match the raw computational performance of some premium market rivals, its physical form factor presents a compelling alternative for mobile professionals. Visual configurations will span from standard high-definition screens to more vibrant and faster organic light-emitting diode displays.

In addition to the compact fourteen-inch model, the manufacturer unveiled the Swift Air 16, a larger sibling designed for users requiring more screen real estate without sacrificing mobility. Despite its expansive display size, this computer maintains a very slim profile of roughly half an inch and weighs approximately three point three pounds. It shares similar internal processing capabilities with the smaller version but scales up connectivity features with advanced high-speed ports, up to sixteen gigabytes of memory, and half a terabyte of high-speed solid-state storage. Detailed pricing configurations for both models have not yet been disclosed, though international availability is slated to begin in December, with a broader North American release planned for early 2027.
