Anker’s new MindBase is an AI-powered brain for your smart home

Anker has introduced the Eufy MindBase, a specialized on-device artificial intelligence hub engineered to operate as a secure, local command center for modern smart homes.

Revealed at the IFA technology exhibition in Berlin, the device employs a proprietary large language model to analyze surveillance recordings locally, which allows users to process their data without sending it to external servers. This design directly addresses previous privacy criticisms by emphasizing local storage and offline processing. The system functions as a Matter controller that supports numerous smart home hardware categories and integrates smoothly with dominant platforms like Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home. Equipped with expandable storage capacity and a customized processor, the hub manages complex processes such as facial recognition, object tracking, and natural-language searches of video archives without demanding subscription fees.

In tandem with the central hub, the manufacturer revealed several compatible peripheral security devices. These include the TrackLight Cam S1, an active-deterrence unit featuring automated light tracking and high-resolution recording capabilities. Another addition is the wired S4 video doorbell, which introduces a virtual reality-style feature allowing homeowners to view panoramic footage by rotating their smartphones. Lastly, Anker introduced an affordable window-mounted indoor camera for those unable to set up outdoor equipment, alongside a specialized ceiling sensor that utilizes millimeter-wave technology to detect falls and facilitate immediate two-way voice communication.
