The hardware manufacturer Jsaux has introduced a new specialized controller accessory named the Elite Extender, designed specifically to augment the physical capabilities of the original Nintendo Switch Pro controller.

Retailing at a price of thirty-nine dollars and ninety-nine cents, this hardware modification kit attaches directly to the existing gamepad to provide players with additional inputs during gameplay. Specifically, the device introduces four programmable rear buttons, which users can customize to mimic standard controller button presses or to execute pre-recorded macro commands. This design philosophy closely mirrors prior console industry efforts to enhance standard input devices, such as the secondary back button attachment that Sony previously launched for the PlayStation 4 controller.

Beyond its primary function of adding customizable physical inputs to the rear of the gamepad, the attachment also acts as an external power source, carrying an integrated one-thousand eight-hundred milliampere-hour battery to extend playing sessions. Despite these operational benefits, installing the accessory introduces a notable functional limitation, as it prevents the underlying Nintendo controller from utilizing its built-in near-field communication features for scanning Amiibo figures. Consequently, gamers must weigh the advantages of improved input configurations and prolonged battery life against the temporary loss of this specific interactive figurine functionality while the extension remains attached to their primary gaming controller.
