New Android Drop adds remembered items in Find Hub, makes anti-nausea dots official

Google has officially announced its latest Android Feature Drop, introducing a range of new capabilities across various system versions rather than limiting them to Pixel hardware.

A key addition is the integration of the Gemini assistant with the Find Hub on devices running Android 16 or newer. This tool allows users to log the location of physical belongings that lack physical tracking tags, simply by telling the assistant where the item was left and optionally attaching a photo. For older versions stretching back to Android 9, an accessibility tool named Guided Vision is being introduced. This feature leverages Gemini Live to analyze a live camera feed, helping users locate objects in space or read obscure text in low-light environments.

The update also significantly enhances Google Messages and introduces comfort options for travelers. Users can now open Google Keep directly within a conversation to generate and share notes without leaving their chat. Text conversations are also getting visual upgrades, enabling custom background themes that match color schemes automatically or via manual selection. For users running Android 17, Google has officially integrated Motion Assist, a setting designed to prevent motion sickness. This feature displays interactive on-screen dots that shift dynamically based on vehicle movement, alleviating the sensory conflict that typically causes nausea. These updates are scheduled to roll out to eligible devices over the coming weeks.
