Google has launched a trial version of an updated artificial intelligence assistant named CC, which is designed to help families organize and manage their busy household schedules.

Initially developed as a personal productivity tool that provided daily schedule summaries from Google's various suite applications, the assistant has pivoted toward domestic coordination. The AI agent can now generate shared digital calendars, draft shopping lists, and formulate weekly meal plans based on family preferences. By assigning a dedicated Google account to the AI agent, family members can easily forward important emails regarding school activities, sports practices, and medical appointments to a centralized hub, allowing the system to coordinate schedules autonomously.

Operating on the company's proprietary Gemini models and an isolated cloud computing framework, the assistant allows up to six family members to integrate their data while maintaining individual privacy controls. Users can authorize the tool to automatically parse incoming emails from trusted senders like local clubs or schools, enabling the agent to autofill registration forms and calculate transit times between various events. Despite its promise for reducing the mental load of household management, the initial release is constrained by restrictions, including availability limited only to adults in the United States using personal accounts. This prevents children and teenagers from directly linking their school-issued profiles, though the service remains a helpful resource for multi-generational homes seeking to coordinate complex daily routines.
