Hideo Kojima announces Bill Skarsgård will star in stealth-action Physint, legendary designer Yoji Shinkawa also confirmed for character design

Alongside the casting of Skarsgård, Kojima confirmed that legendary artist and designer Yoji Shinkawa will return to oversee character and mechanical designs. Shinkawa, celebrated for his iconic aesthetic contributions to the Metal Gear Solid franchise and Death Stranding, remains a vital collaborator for Kojima Productions. This confirmation reassures fans that the creative team's core artistic direction remains intact despite recent structural and publishing shifts behind the scenes.

These casting and production announcements follow a turbulent development period that saw the game transition from Sony Interactive Entertainment to Microsoft. Reports indicate that Sony initially severed ties with Kojima's studio due to ongoing issues surrounding budget overruns and missed production milestones. Because of this publisher change, Kojima Productions may lose access to the proprietary Decima engine owned by Sony and Guerrilla Games, a transition that could significantly delay the eventual release of Physint.
